About Just As It Was

A permanent team with one shared way of seeing.

Most wedding days are planned for months and remembered in flashes. We keep the people, movement and atmosphere close.

The studio story

The beautiful part is that it really happened.

A hand held under the table. A parent pausing before the ceremony. Friends laughing through tears. Wind catching a veil. The sound of glasses being raised in a crowded room.

We created Just As It Was for couples who want to be present at their wedding rather than spend it performing for a camera.

The studio has more than ten years of experience, has photographed or filmed more than 1,500 weddings and has worked across 35 countries.

The people

Different strengths. One visual standard.

Serg

Founder, Creative Director & Documentary Wedding Photographer

Serg looks for the emotional rhythm of a wedding rather than a list of poses: the quiet build-up, shifting relationships and moments that disappear quickly. He gives simple direction when it helps, then returns the attention to the people and the day. As founder and creative director, he guides the photographic and visual standards of Just As It Was.

Father, good coffee, long city walks.

Alex M

Documentary Wedding Photographer

Alex M follows the natural rhythm of a wedding, from calm preparations to the energy of the dance floor. His approach is quiet, observant and detail-conscious, with minimal direction and a clean, balanced visual finish.

Simple design, music and road trips.

Alex K

Portrait & Wedding Photographer

Alex K combines documentary observation with a strong understanding of portraiture, movement and light. He helps couples feel comfortable without overdirecting them and creates portraits that remain connected to the atmosphere of the real day.

Calm under pressure and attentive to beautiful light.

Lara

Documentary Wedding Filmmaker

Lara creates natural, elegant wedding films led by real moments, voices and atmosphere. She works discreetly with professional sound, offers simple guidance when useful and uses aerial footage only when it adds something meaningful to the story.

Sound, colour and films that feel alive.

Viktoria

Documentary & Analogue Wedding Photographer

Viktoria works people-first, looking for personality, gesture and quiet relationships. She also photographs on analogue film, using its pace and texture as a considered addition to the digital story.

People first, photographs second.

Mike

Wedding Filmmaker & Editor

Mike films weddings in a story-first way and shapes the material through rhythm, sound and unobtrusive editing. He focuses on natural skin tones, clear vows and speeches, invisible transitions and careful delivery.

Rhythm, sound and invisible transitions.

Internal Editing Team

Photography & Film Post-Production

The internal editing team supports image selection, colour consistency, sound, pacing, quality control and final delivery under one creative direction. They are not presented as public-facing photographers.
